Frequently asked questions about body sugaring:

WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT SUGARING?
Hair that has been sugared grows back smooth and more fine unlike the stubble that shaving causes. Instead of having that stubble back again in a day or two, we can achieve smooth skin for up to three weeks! Another not so fun result of shaving is razor burn and razor bumps caused by the irritation of using a blade against the skin to cut the hair off at the skin's surface. When we sugar, we remove the hair completely, thus eliminating the bumps and quick regrowth.

DOESN'T IT HURT?
You may be surprised! It doesn't tickle but it really isn't as "bad" as you might think. One of several benefits to maintaining your sugaring treatment is that you will notice less "regrowth" (less hair comes back) which means... less hair, less discomfort. A great tip is to take Ibuprofen or a pain reliever of your choice an hour prior to your appointment.

WILL MY HAIR GROW BACK DARKER AND/OR THICKER?
Absolutely not. If that were true, wouldn't every person experiencing baldness want to treat their head to grow more hair? Sugaring does not cause you to grow more hair follicles. In fact, as you become a regular, you will notice that your hair will become quite sparse and not as coarse. Sugaring does not change the pigment of the hair, hence your hair will not grow back darker in appearance.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT AFTER I STOP SHAVING BEFORE I CAN "SUGAR"?
Unlike waxing, your hair can be very short and still be long enough to remove with our professional sugar paste! No more waiting weeks and weeks before a treatment! The rule of thumb with sugaring is the hair needs to be between 1/8" and 1/16th"! That's pretty darn short. Heck, that IS stubble!

I LOVE THE RESULTS I GET FROM SUGARING BUT HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO HAVE IT DONE?
Every four weeks...regular treatments are essential. The skin becomes less sensitive when/if sugaring is done every four weeks, Over time, the follicle loses some of its "grip" on the hair itself and thus reducing discomfort. The hair grows in three stages and when we sugar every four weeks, we can get "ahead" of the cycle and can achieve longer lasting results.

CAN I SHAVE BETWEEN MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS?
NO. Please do not shave between appointments. Shaving will disrupt the hair growth cycle and will result in more hair to be sugared at your next appointment. If you feel that your hair is growing back faster than the norm, let us know and we can adjust how often we schedule your appointments
